Petersburg Library Receives Contribution to Support Breast Cancer Collection

Petersburg Library Foundation Gets a Boost from the Community!

Petersburg, VA- The Petersburg Library Foundation is getting a boost from the community to support the fund raising efforts for the new 56,000 sf. library that will be located at the corner of Washington and Market Streets.  Local businesses, the Petersburg Public Schools and City of Petersburg  Departments are collecting change in a unique way. Diamond Springs Water has donated bottles to be used as the change canisters or banks to collect the donations. These water bottles distributed by the Petersburg Library Foundation, have been decorated by the employees of the respective departments or businesses. Ms. Penelope Pig talks (when you press the button by her left hoof) about the need for the new library, and the services and programs that will enhance the Petersburg Public Library. Colonial Downs Supports the New Library Project

This generous donation will support the building of the new 56,000 sf. library. “Colonial Downs is always interested in being a good corporate citizen in every community we serve” said Stewart. Petersburg Library Receives Gift from Woman’s Club of Petersburg

Mrs. Jeffrey Anderson (left) and Mrs. Hibernia Cuthbert (right) present a $1,000 check to Wayne Crocker, Director of Library Services (center) to support the construction of the new 56,000 sf. library that will be located at the corner of Washington and Market Streets. Established in March of 1897 with the objective of “promoting an interest in literary pursuits”  The Woman’s Club of Petersburg continues to be active today.
