Council OKs $5M for new library

PETERSBURG — City Council voted unanimously last night to provide $5 million to the Petersburg Library Foundation toward the construction of a new library.
“The library foundation is proceeding with its plans to construct a new library to be located at 22-24 N. Market St.,” City Manager B. David Canada said. “The foundation has pledged to raise $11 million of the $16 million project cost.”
