Dear Friends … The City of Petersburg stands poised for exciting changes. The expansion of Fort Lee, coupled with the economic growth of Petersburg, brings new opportunities for social, cultural and economic excellence. The construction of a new library is central to realizing the full potential of our great city.
The main library has served us well for over 80 years. However, it faces numerous challenges today. The present facility has many inadequacies in terms of space, parking, climate control, security, technology and service.
The Gateway to the World Capital Campaign will address the current library system’s challenges and provide for a new Petersburg Library that will offer valuable resources to everyone who lives in and around Petersburg.
